T-Shirt Refashion

So T-Shirt refashions are nothing new.  You can find tons of them on blogs and pinterest.  I finally decided to try one for myself.  It was the easiest thing ever and I love the result.  I will def. be trying this one again!  I used the tutorial from THIS site.

I have had this shirt for a while. I have always liked it but it didn't hold up great in the wash and got a really boxy shape to it.  When I was pregnant I decided to make it into a maternity shirt and just added some elastic to the sides.

First you cut off the top
Make sure you use a really coo dinosar ruler while measuring
Cut off arms and sew the top.  See the link at the top for a real tutorial!
Take a weird self portrait to try to show how it turned out...

Happy Refashioning!!

A blanket for baby

I saw this blanket on pinterest while I was pregnant and knew I had to make one!   It was a fun project and now my baby girl plays on it all of the time.  A little time consuming, but well worth it.  I am really happy with how it came our.  I just followed all of the step by step it her blog post. http://www.aestheticnest.com/2010/08/sewing-heirloom-cut-chenille-baby.html

I will post the finished product as soon as I get a good picture of it!

So last year I made some owl ornaments out of felt. This year we decided to get new ornaments for our tree and I was so happy to find that they fit in perfectly!

Organization plan

I have some serious organizing to do before this little girl arrives. I am nesting and I'm loving it. I found this wonderful idea on pinterest. They used a regular shoe organizer but this one is just for flip flops. It was on mega clearance so I bought this one instead. This one actually worked out perfect for my space because it is more slim and I was worried about the extra large foil boxed falling out of the vertical pockets. I'm pretty excited with the organized result!

Buzz Lightyear

I am finally posting the Buzz Lightyear costume I made for my little guy. I made it for $10. I found a white shirt at target for $4 and some baseball pants at a thrift store for $3.99. I already had the felt. I am very pleased with how it turned out. And my son seemed to be as well.

Toddler blanket

When our baby grew out of his crib, I really wanted a race car bed for his room. We found a twin size race car bed for half the price of the toddler bed. When we set it up we realized it was just way too big for his little room. So we ended up buing a toddle bed. By that time we had gotten a twin size duvett cover (and had mistakenly bought a queen blankt to go inside) for almost two years we have been dealing with this big clump of blankets on his bed. I finally got around to altering the blanket and cover for his bed.  No more clump! We can finally make hi bedand have it look decent. There is no before picture , I'm sure you can just imagine how it looked before. Here is a picture of it all done though!
