Halloween Decorating

I got some of my Halloween decorating done!  I would like to do more but the dollar store ran out of the decorations I wanted and I can't afford much else!  Haha.  I did manage to scoop up a crow before they were all gone and I'm so glad I did!  I made a Halloween banner out of felt that I already had.   I just hand cut and stitched the letters and made some ghost to go on the sides.  I'm pretty happy with the turn out!  I'm linking to The Stories of A to Z Halloween mantel linky party!  You should come join the fun!!

Can I have a room like this?

My husband and I have talked about adding onto our home some day.  I would LOVE to have a big room that looks like this!  So colorful and inviting!

The Girl Creative link party

Today I'm linking up my Etsy Shop to The Girl Creative linky party!  Come join us!

Quiet Church Activity

A lady in my neighborhood gave me some of these pictures.  She said she used them for her kids during church when they were little.  She just cut up some felt shapes to go on them and the kids could put them on the pictures like a puzzle.  Here are a few of the pictures she printed off for me.  There are a LOT more that aren't pictured.

I didn't like the idea of felt because it seemed like the pieced would just slip off and create frustration.  I wanted it to be magnetic so the pieced could just stick to the pictures.  I also knew I wanted to use craft foam so I bought a pack and came home and cut some shapes.

Now I have been thinking about this project for a while and I really needed to get started on it because I kept seeing this stack of pictures floating around my house and I hate useless junk so they needed to be thrown out or used for something.  So I started cutting the shapes and thinking about running to the craft store to see what I could come up with, then I remembered an old silver tin I had kept.  I had been planning on getting rid of it for a long time but I always sort of liked it so I kept it.

So I got it and a roll of magnets that I had in my craft room and went to work.  The magnet roll has a sticky side to it so all I had to do was cut off some magnet and stick it to the back of the shapes.  Easy as that!

I cut the papers to fit inside the tin and there you have it!

Those little pieces aren't going anywhere!  Unless someone throws them and loses them...in which case they are very cheap to replace!

New Necklace

I have seen these hand made necklaces around some of the blogs I follow and I just love them.  I finally decided to make my own.  I just used some fabric I had on hand.  I cut three strips of slightly different lengths, tied a knot at the end and twisted the fabric around the knot and hot glued as I went.  It was a really fun project and people seem to like the necklace too.  I think I might make some more!

Felt Accessories

I saw a flower pin at Joann Fabrics that I really liked and thought I could make one myself.  It looked very much like the pin on this tutorial.  I could not find a picture of the actual pin that inspired me.  It was a red one.  I had some gray felt on hand so I used that.

I love things that can dress up a plain shirt.  I liked how it turned out and it was so simple to make!

Baby Shower Gift

My cousin is having her baby boy in a few weeks and just had a baby shower over the weekend.  I had some fabric that I was dying to use so I made it into a tummy time blanket.  I also found a whale on there that I copied onto some felt and made a little toy that can hook onto the ribbon tags for play time.  I added a little song button inside so it plays music if you push it.  I made some baby shoes to go with an outfit I had bought.
