Battery Organization

I am a little obsessed with the blog http://iheartorganizing.blogspot.com/. Once I started reading it, I started looking around my house for places that do not function well in my home. I found such a place when my son's toy needed new batteries and I pulled out this blue bucked of shame. So taking some of my new found inspiration, I looked for a good solution and this is what I came up with.

This was such a fun little project and I get so excited when I have to get a battery now!

Tinker Bell to Little Mermaid

I have had a lot of fun making costumes this year. I will post a few more things I have made this week. I made a Tinkerbell costume for my little girl, and she seemed offended that I would even put it on her. If its not pink, or sparkely, or ruffely, she does not care for it. I was really excited to make her costume this year and I wanted it to be something she liked, so I ripped the whole thing apart and turned it into a Little Mermaid costume instead. I like how it turned out, but more importantly, so does she!  I still might add some more jewels to it or something so you might be seeing it again!

Little Girls Room

I was so excited to decorate a room for a baby girl!  It was a lot of fun putting it together and I love being in there.  I got the flower wall idea from pinterest. There were a lot of different varieties of this idea.  I just drew on the branches and used a flower stencil that I bought from Michaels.

T-Shirt Refashion

So T-Shirt refashions are nothing new.  You can find tons of them on blogs and pinterest.  I finally decided to try one for myself.  It was the easiest thing ever and I love the result.  I will def. be trying this one again!  I used the tutorial from THIS site.

I have had this shirt for a while. I have always liked it but it didn't hold up great in the wash and got a really boxy shape to it.  When I was pregnant I decided to make it into a maternity shirt and just added some elastic to the sides.

First you cut off the top
Make sure you use a really coo dinosar ruler while measuring
Cut off arms and sew the top.  See the link at the top for a real tutorial!
Take a weird self portrait to try to show how it turned out...

Happy Refashioning!!

Christmas Tree

So last year I made some owl ornaments out of felt. This year we decided to get new ornaments for our tree and I was so happy to find that they fit in perfectly!
